What Hair Extension Methods Are You

Certified In?

I am certified in Great Lengths, SoCap, Balmain and Microlink hair extensions as well as many other systems.

My work has been featured in “Passion Hair Book for Extensions” and many local magazines.

How Much Do Hair Extensions Cost?

The cost of your new hairstyle with extensions will be determined during your free consultation. The price is driven by many factors, including: your target hairstyle, how much hair it will take to achieve the look, the type or length of hair chosen and the system we will use. This could range from $300 for thickening the front to $3,000 for a full head for length and thickness.

How Long Do Hair Extensions Last and what maintenance schedule will I need to follow?

The wearing period of your hair extensions depends on your individual hair growth, the structure and volume of your own hair and your desired hairstyle. As your natural hair grows, the bonds will move away from your scalp along with your natural hair.  As a result, the bonds will be more visible after about two to three months, and should be removed.   Upkeep and maintenance should be done once a month after that to maintain the health and integrity of your natural hair. Some stylists advertise 4-6 months, sure, they can stay in that long but it challenges your hairs integrity and can be damaging.

Do Hair Extensions Look Natural? Are They Visible?

Quality hair extensions properly installed will look completely natural and are not noticeable. I am a specialist in color matching, design so the result will look, feel and style better than

However, if your hair is not healthy or the hairstyle you are wanting will not complete your look, I will discuss this with you and give alternatives for a beautiful hairstyle.

Will I Feel the Hair Extensions?

Hair extension bonds are very small and therefore hardly noticeable.

How are extensions removed?

A very safe and harmless keratin dissolve solution that allows stylist to slide bond off the hair with a tool.

Can the bonds be reused?

This service is called rebonding.  Rebonding can be done with the Microlink system. Although I am educated in this system, I choose not to use it because any single bond hair being reused is dry and desensitized.  Also, microlinks can be hard on hair for extended wear.

Do I Have Any Lifestyle Limitations When Wearing Hair Extensions?

You do not have to limit your lifestyle in any way. Thanks to the secure installation, you can pursue your hobbies and activities as usual.

Are Hair Extensions Hard to Take Care Of?

As your extensionist, part of my service is educating you on what products will work best with both your natural and extension hair.

I use many product lines, which are specially formulated to meet the needs of human hair extensions. Your hair extensions are not connected to your scalp and therefore not automatically supplied with natural conditioning substances; they must be balanced with specially formulated shampoos and conditioners.

Can I Style And Color the Hair as Usual?

You can style your hair as usual using your blow dryer, flat iron or curling iron. Color and highlights are easier on your natural hair with extensions, as highlights, lowlights and extreme color changes can be done with extension hair instead of stressing your hair with high lifting chemicals.

I do not recommend perms, if you like curly hair I will be glad to order beautiful curly extension hair for you.

TIPS: Brush your hair in the morning to prevent tangles.  Also, gently separate bonds with your fingertips.  When blow-drying be careful not to set the blow dryer too hot, and to keep it at a distance of at least 20 cm (8in). Extreme heat can damage or dry out your hair. To avoid tangles while sleeping, tie your hair or put it in a braid before you go to bed.

Do I Have to Meet Certain Requirements to Get Hair Extensions?

Hair should be 3-4 inches minimum length to ensure natural movement and bond coverage.

Can I Get Hair Extensions with Heavy Hair Loss?

No.  Heavy hair loss is often caused by stress, medication, hormonal imbalances or sudden weight loss and the hair loss has to be stopped before hair extensions can be applied.

Are Hair Extensions Damaging to My Own Hair?

My hair extensions are heatless, keratin based and they do not involve glue or harmful chemicals.  With my method and placement, not only is it not harmful but I have helped many women grow out their natural hair beautiful and long.

Keeping your own hair protected by the extension strands because they enclose your own hair. This is called the “Shoulder-Effect”. Shoulder-length hair gets split ends and breaks at the level where your hair touches your shoulders. Thanks to the enclosure with hair extensions, your own hair can recover during the wearing period and split ends or breakage are prevented from occurring.

A regular maintenance schedule is crucial to keeping your hair extensions looking healthy and natural. Many of my clients are set up on a monthly maintenance program.  This not only keeps the hair looking fresh, but also gives me the ability to change up highlight and lowlight effects and is more affordable than doing full replacements every 3 months.

Where does the hair come from?

Most from north India, but if the client wants super fine and straight, I also use Ukraine and Asian blend

How Long Does the Application of the Strands Take?

The time it will take depends on your desired hairstyle. A compact hair extension requires many more strands than for just hair thickening. If you would like partial extensions, e.g. bangs, only, then the process is even faster. Primarily the time needed depends on the number of strands that need to be applied. The next deciding factor of time is the system used. Using the cold fusion method where each strand has to be applied individually, you can expect a period of about 4 hours for an average hair extension. Please keep in mind that the time for cleansing and drying, as well as for possible coloring and cutting has not yet been considered here.

The Balmain multi strand for volumizing machine only takes about 1 1/2 hours; this includes cleansing, drying, installation and blending haircut
